"It works great when connected to an HTPC. I used the HDMI port on my video card and the picture quality is amazing. It offers all the needed aspect ratio controls for when connecting directly to a cable box. I actually tried using it directly with the cable box (SD) and found that it was perfectly usable that way. Since it's an SD box, I had to keep the aspect ratio either on autodetect or forced 4:3 (black bars on both sides). Also, for the best picture quality, disable the energy savings option in the menu. Setting it us was easy.
